MEET NICK ARCHER

Architect. Entrepreneur. Conservative Leader. Proud Voice for Western Oklahoma.

I was born in Sayre, Oklahoma—but Elk City is where I was raised, where I found my calling, and where I’m proud to be raising my own family today. After graduating from Elk City High School in 2002, I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. It was there I met my wife, Katie, and together we made the decision to come home—back to Western Oklahoma—to build our lives, start our careers, and invest in the community that invested in us.

My roots in this district run generations deep. I’m a fifth-generation Western Oklahoman, and my family’s Centennial Farm in Hammon—established in 1896—represents part of that proud heritage. Katie is a sixth-generation rancher from Roger Mills County. Today, we lease and manage her family’s cattle ranch near Cheyenne, where we oversee operations and continue the tradition of raising cattle on Western Oklahoma land. Katie also serves as Vice President of Operations for REES Associates, a nationally respected architecture and design firm whose clients include a Fortune 100 technology company based in Houston. We’re raising our two children, Xander and Emilia, with the same values we were raised on: faith, family, freedom, and responsibility.

Before entering the Legislature, I spent over a decade at Great Plains Analytical Services (GAS), ultimately serving as Director of Engineering. I also served two terms as Mayor of Elk City, leading during critical infrastructure investments and economic expansion. In both the private and public sectors, I’ve worked to build things that last—businesses, communities, and opportunities for the next generation.

In 2013, I joined Leadership Elk City Class I and got my first real look at how local government impacts daily life. That experience sparked a deeper sense of purpose. I served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and, in 2019, ran for and was elected Mayor. I knew then—and I know now—that public service is a calling, not a career.

In 2016, I turned a lifelong passion into a business and founded HFJ Outdoors, a federally licensed firearms dealer and manufacturer (FFL/SOT). My first guided hunt was during the Lieutenant Governor’s Annual Turkey Hunt—an Oklahoma tradition hosted right here in Elk City. With a background in architectural graphics and a growing demand for Cerakote firearm coatings, I combined my design skills with my love for the outdoors. HFJ Outdoors has since become a trusted brand for hunters, veterans, and firearm enthusiasts across the state.

Today, I serve as the State Representative for House District 55. In the Legislature, I help lead conservative policy efforts as Vice Chair of the House Republican Caucus and Chairman of the House Energy Committee, where I focus on strengthening Oklahoma’s energy sector, advancing pro-growth reforms, and protecting the values that make our state strong. I don’t come from a political machine—I come from rural Oklahoma: dirt roads and church pews, cattle gates and small-town classrooms. I ran for office to defend the way of life we’ve built here—and to ensure it endures for generations to come.

Whether I’m standing up for Oklahoma’s energy producers, defending the Second Amendment, or cutting red tape for small businesses, I lead with a clear mission: to deliver results that matter to Western Oklahoma families. This isn’t about politics—it’s about keeping our communities strong, our freedoms intact, and our future full of opportunity.

ROOTED IN OKLAHOMA

Nick Archer supports the agricultural and ranching industries in Oklahoma.  They are one of the engines that drive Oklahoma’s economy.  Nick and Katie have a long history in farming and ranching with Centennial farms on both sides.  They continue this long tradition today, with Archer Cattle Co.

These deep roots ensure that Nick Archer will advocate and support Oklahoma’s farming and ranching industries.

“I knew Nick would be important in my life long before becoming my husband. From the very first conversation we ever had, it was clear that Nick was a man with conviction, earnestness, and strength of character.”
